Law of Supply

Statement

The law of supply states that a direct relationship exists between price and the quantity supplied of a good, ceteris paribus.

Notes

The direct relationship is what gives the supply curve its upward slope: a higher price raises the revenue and therefore the profit a producer earns, so producers are more willing and able to sell at higher prices.
