International Trade

Statement

International trade refers to the exchange of goods and services across national boundaries.

Notes

International trade is the channel through which otherwise separate economies interact. Its rationale is comparative advantage: each economy specialises in the goods and services it is relatively most suited to produce and trades them for those it is relatively less efficient at producing, so that — through specialisation and exchange — every participant can consume beyond what it could produce alone.
