Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use micro.sg. By using it, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
micro.sg is operated by [Legal entity name, UEN] (“we”, “us”). Contact: [DPO email, e.g. privacy@micro.sg].
1. What micro.sg is
micro.sg offers H2 Economics (A-Level, syllabus 9570) learning resources:
- Free: a study roadmap, notes, model essays, case studies, TYS/prelim answer keys, and an AI tutor called Cateris.
- Paid membership: weekly 2-hour live online classes on Zoom, class recordings, a members’ Telegram group, and live essay marking (“script surgery”).
micro.sg is independent. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by SEAB, MOE, or Cambridge.
2. Who can use micro.sg
- You must be 13 or older to create an account.
- If you are under 18, please make sure your parent or guardian is okay with you using micro.sg. A parent or guardian should agree to these terms on your behalf before you subscribe to the paid membership, and is usually the one who pays.
3. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One account per person. Do not share your membership, class links or recordings with others.
- Tell us quickly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
4. Paid membership, billing and cancellation
- Price: S$140 per month, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Your membership renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime through the customer portal in your account. Your membership stays active until the end of the month you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again.
- Refunds: we do not give refunds for partial months, unless the law requires it. [Business decision to confirm: refund policy, including any first-month or missed-class exceptions.]
- Price changes: we will give you at least [notice period to confirm, e.g. 30 days] notice before a price change applies to you. You can cancel before it takes effect.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, we may pause your membership until it is paid.
- Class schedules may change occasionally. We will try to give advance notice and offer a recording or replacement session where we can.
5. Class conduct
In live classes and the Telegram group, please:
- be respectful to tutors and other students — no bullying, harassment, hate speech or inappropriate content;
- not share class links, recordings, or other members’ personal information;
- not post spam, ads or anything illegal; and
- follow reasonable instructions from tutors.
We may mute, remove, or suspend anyone who breaks these rules. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to cancellation of your membership [decision to confirm: whether any refund applies in that case].
6. Class recordings
- Live classes are recorded so members can rewatch them. Your name, voice, video and chat messages may appear in recordings. You can keep your camera off and use a display name if you prefer.
- Recordings are for members’ personal study only. Do not download, share, or re-upload them.
- We may use short, anonymised clips publicly (for example on YouTube) only if no student can be identified, or with consent. [Decision to confirm.]
7. Our content
All notes, model essays, case studies, answer keys, videos and other materials on micro.sg belong to us or our licensors.
You may use them for your own personal study. You may not copy, sell, redistribute, publish, or share them (including in tuition centres, group chats, or other websites), or use them to train AI models, without our written permission.
Past exam questions remain the property of their original owners.
8. The AI tutor (Cateris)
- Cateris uses AI (Anthropic’s Claude) to answer questions. She can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Always check important points against your notes, teachers, and the official syllabus.
- Cateris is a study aid. She is not a substitute for your teachers or school.
- Do not share sensitive personal information with Cateris.
- Do not use Cateris to cheat, for example to write work you will submit as your own where that is not allowed by your school.
- We may limit usage to keep the service fair and running.
9. Your uploaded content
When you upload an essay or post in class or the Telegram group, you still own it. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, mark, and discuss it for the purpose of giving you (and, during live script surgery, the class) feedback.
- During live script surgery, your essay may be shown to other students in the class and appear in the recording. [Decision to confirm: whether names are hidden by default.]
- We will not publish your essay outside the class (for example as a model essay) without your permission.
- Only upload work that is yours. Do not upload anything that breaks someone else’s rights.
10. Things you must not do
Do not: try to hack, overload or disrupt micro.sg; scrape or bulk-download content; get around paywalls or usage limits; pretend to be someone else; or use micro.sg for anything illegal.
11. No guarantee of results
We work hard to make our materials accurate and helpful, but we cannot guarantee any grade or exam result. micro.sg is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we do not promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, opportunity or results; and
- our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose (or S$50 if you have not paid us). [Cap to confirm.]
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded by law, including under Singapore’s consumer protection laws, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
13. Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using micro.sg and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we close the service or your account without you being at fault, we will refund any unused prepaid period.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email or on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use micro.sg after that means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Singapore. Before going to court, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out.
